Most factory motorhome chassis are derated for a homologation test cycle, not for a 3.5-tonne touring rig with bikes on the back. Our campervan recipe is calibrated at GVW — fully laden, full water, full habitation — so the gains are real on the road, not just on the dyno.

A panel van leaves the factory with software calibrated for an empty load floor. Your motorhome carries 3-4 tonnes of habitation, water, leisure batteries, awnings, bikes, and people. Stock fuelling and boost maps are conservative because the factory has no idea what you've loaded. We map for fully-laden touring — stronger torque where you actually need it, on hills, in second gear, towing a trailer.
Every map runs through 55 safety checks before it touches your ECU — torque limits, EGT margins, rail pressure, smoke models, thermal headroom. We tune within the factory's mechanical envelope, not above it. The same engine block sells in higher-output factory variants — we calibrate to those headroom limits, not past them.
Manufacturer warranty: any modification can affect warranty claims for related components. Most owners outside warranty don't worry. Insurance: we'll provide written documentation of the changes so you can declare it. Most specialist motorhome insurers (e.g. Caravan Guard, Comfort, Safeguard) accept declared remaps without a premium increase. We'll never lie about it.
Yes. Ducato (Bosch EDC16, EDC17, MED17, Continental SID variants) is our most-tuned chassis. We have proven recipes for every Multijet variant 2006 onwards plus the newer X290 / X295 platforms. Boxer and Relay (same platform) too.

Every towing tune is dyno-validated under simulated load, with EGT and rail-pressure margins held within factory limits. We never push torque limiters past the gearbox or driveline rating — the goal is real-world capability, not bragging-rights numbers.

We move the torque curve down the rev range. Stock factory maps push peak torque to 2,000-2,500rpm to chase MPG figures on the test cycle. With a tow load, you spend most of your time below that — climbing in third gear, pulling away from junctions with 1.5 tonnes behind you. We push usable torque down to 1,400-1,800rpm where towing actually happens. Same peak figures, completely different driving experience under load.
Declared remaps are accepted by most mainstream insurers and every specialist towing/caravan insurer. We provide written documentation of every change so the declaration is straightforward. Failing to declare is the only thing that voids cover.
Yes. A remap doesn't affect any MOT test parameter — emissions are tested at idle and 2,500rpm, well within stock fuelling. We don't touch DPF, EGR, or AdBlue on road-going cars. Anything that would fail an MOT we won't do.
Yes for moving the load. The factory rates the engine for 3.5t braked at 2,800kg train weight. Where stock falls short is the experience — rev-bouncing on motorway hills, downshifting too early, drinking fuel in third. A towing tune fixes all three without exceeding any mechanical limit.
