Terms of Service

Remote Remap Terms

Plain English. The same things we'd tell you face-to-face if you came to the workshop, written down so we both know where we stand.

Version v1.0 — effective 2026-05-05

1. What you're buying

A custom calibration file (the "tune") for your specific vehicle's ECU, delivered as a flashable file in a format compatible with your tuning tool. You read the ECU on your vehicle, send us the original .bin, we modify it, and we send you back the modified file. You then flash that file onto your ECU.

You are NOT buying:

- A workshop service or in-person tune

- A hardware tuning tool (your own KESS3 / AutoTuner / etc. is required)

- A guaranteed power figure — typical Stage 1 gains are quoted as ranges, never promises

2. What you must do

- Read your vehicle's ECU using a supported tool (see Section 4)

- Provide a complete, uncorrupted .bin or .hex file from your tool

- Provide your VIN, registration, model year, ECU type, and a list of any modifications already fitted

- Declare the modification to your insurance company before driving the vehicle

- Flash the modified file yourself, following our written instructions

- Tell us promptly if anything seems wrong after flashing — we have a 30-day support window

3. What we will do

- Verify your vehicle and ECU are in our recipe library before charging you

- Build a custom tune within 1-3 working days of receiving your file

- Run the file through 55 safety checks (boost limits, EGT margins, rail pressure, smoke models, torque limiters, thermal headroom)

- Deliver the tuned file to you securely via encrypted link

- Keep your original "stock" file for at least 90 days so we can revert at any time

- Provide one free re-flash if there's an issue with our file in the first 30 days

- Offer one free revision (e.g. soften the throttle response) — additional revisions £25 each

4. Supported tools

We can only accept files from these tools:

- Bench: AutoTuner, KESS3, Alientech KTM, MAGICMOTORSPORT FlexBox

- OBD: AutoTuner OBD, KESS3 OBD, MPPS V21, Alientech KESSv3 OBD

We cannot accept files from:

- Generic Chinese OBD tools (AliExpress / eBay clones)

- Phone-app-based scanners (e.g. OBDLink, Carista)

- Diagnostic-only tools (Snap-on, Launch X-431) without a tuner module

If you're not sure your tool is supported, ask us before paying.

5. What we are NOT responsible for

- Read errors caused by your tool (incomplete or corrupted .bin)

- File corruption during your upload to us, or your download from us

- A bricked ECU caused by power loss during your flash

- Damage caused by you flashing the file on a different vehicle or VIN than the one we tuned for

- Damage caused by hardware modifications you said were fitted but aren't, or vice versa

- Compatibility with diagnostic / DPF / EGR equipment fitted after the tune

- MOT or insurance issues — you are responsible for declaring and verifying locally

- Manufacturer warranty consequences — most warranties are voided by ECU modification, this is normal and your responsibility to consider

- Tax or legal status of any DPF / EGR / AdBlue removal (we do not perform these on road-going vehicles)

6. When you can / cannot get a refund

FULL refund:

- If your vehicle/ECU is not in our recipe library and we can't safely tune it (we'll tell you within 24 hours of receiving your file)

- If your file is unreadable or corrupted and we can't recover it

NO refund (work delivered):

- Once we've delivered the tuned file, the work is done. If you change your mind, we will send the original stock file back free of charge so you can revert.

- If you flash incorrectly, brick the ECU, or otherwise damage the vehicle, this is not a refund situation — but contact us anyway, we'll often be able to help recover.

7. Single vehicle, single VIN

Every tune we deliver is built for the specific vehicle and VIN you provide. The file:

- Will likely fail or cause running issues if flashed onto another vehicle

- May void manufacturer-fitted security (anti-theft software handshakes)

- Voids any 30-day support if used outside the original vehicle

Selling, sharing, or redistributing the file is illegal redistribution of our work and will result in no further support and possible legal action.

8. Privacy

We store your contact details, VIN, registration, ECU dump file, and tuned file for 90 days after delivery for traceability and warranty purposes. After 90 days, your stock and tuned files are deleted from our systems. Your contact details remain only for invoicing/tax records as required by HMRC (typically 6 years).

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties. Stripe processes the payment data separately under their own privacy policy.

9. Liability cap

Bloor Engineering Ltd's maximum financial liability under these terms is the price you paid for the service (between £49 and £299 depending on tier). This applies to all claims, including those involving consequential losses (insurance write-offs, hire car costs, towing fees, etc.).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by UK law (e.g. for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be heard in the English courts.
